Growing memorial shows constant support in wake of San Bernardino shooting

In the aftermath of the shooting at North Park Elementary School, there is no shortage of people who need support. And the showing was nonstop at a memorial that was placed outside the elementary school on Tuesday, with people of all ages dropping off flowers, candles, and stuffed animals — anything to show their support for the victims of the tragic shooting.

Local churches set up prayer booths to comfort those who stopped by the memorial. Marie Cabrera is with the Way World Outreach Church and estimates she’s prayed with nearly 300 people over the past day.

She says helping the community is what helped her when she learned that the shooting happened at her children’s school.

It was awesome and it was blessed for me,” Cabrera said.

The California Crisis Intervention Group delivered flowers from the White House and local police and fire agencies.

Meanwhile, North Park Elementary School will be closed until Monday, April 17. Check back later for continuing coverage from the growing memorial outside the elementary school.
