Power restored to Indio residents

UPDATE: 10:45 P.M.

The Imperial irrigation District said all power had been restored to 79 customers in the city of Indio Saturday night. The outage that lasted for nearly four hours hours, beginning around 6 p.m. due to an equipment failure.

IID said a fuse blew and responding crews found a transformer that needed to be replaced. The outage did not affect the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival because the organizers install their own ttransformers.

Residents i the area still without power are urged to check their main breaker.

Officials with Imperial Irrigation District (IID) said a power outage is affecting 79 customers in Indio Saturday.

The outage was reported around 6 p.m. Saturday night.

According to IID officials, the outage is close to Monroe Street in between Avenue 48 and Avenue 50.

They said the outage isn’t affecting the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Officials said power should be restored to 59 customers just before 7 p.m.
