Crews swing into action after fire ignites at Starbucks

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters are on scene of a fire that ignited at a Starbucks in Banning Friday afternoon. The store is located in the 220 block of West Ramsey Street. The fire sparked at about 1:15 p.m.

Casey Rabe was inside the store when the flames broke out.

“We were just sitting there, and the next minute you know the workers started yelling ‘There’s a fire! There’s a fire!” I looked over and the whole entire side of the building was just engulfed in flames,” Rabe said.

“My bag that I … put next to the wall.. was on fire,” Rabe continued.

The first arriving engine company reported a column of smoke visible from a Starbucks Coffee Shop. An exterior fire was knocked down shortly after arrival. No injuries were reported, according to fire officials.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Resources will remain on scene for overhaul.
