Fire contained at abandoned commercial building in Indio
Cal Fire responded to a commercial structure fire at an abandoned building in Indio Monday morning. The fire was reported at about 8:30 a.m. in the 45200 block of Towne Street.
Crews had the blaze contained at about 9 a.m. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters remained on scene until about 10:30 a.m. to for overhaul, fire officials said.
This was the second fire reported in Indio Monday morning. The first one ignited in tamarisk trees and was contained with some help from Caltrans.
