Two injured in Sky Valley hit and run collision

A man and 10-year-old boy are recovering from injuries suffered in a hit and run crash in Sky Valley Saturday night.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officers said it happened at 7:35 p.m. on Dillon Road, east of Thousand Palms Canyon Road.

Officers said a vehicle was heading eastbound on Dillon Road, when for unknown reasons the car drifted off the road and hit the boy and man, who were riding bicycles on the right shoulder of the road.

They said the vehicle did not stop after the crash and left the scene.

First responders took both the man and boy to Desert Regional Medical Center. The man suffered major injuries, while the boy suffered minor injuries.

CHP officers are investigating the crash.
