Police release the details of the Ronni Chasen murder investigation
Developing details in the 6 1/2-year-old murder case of Hollywood Film Publicist Ronni Chasen. Chasen, who secured A-list talent for the Palm Springs International Film Festival, was shot multiple times while at a stoplight in Beverly Hills in 2010.

The Beverly Hills Police Department released 200 pages of documents highlighting the details of the circumstantial case against the main suspect, Harold Smith. Smith committed suicide shortly after the shooting death of Chasen. The documents also listed other initial persons of interest and the limited scope of the investigation.

A year and a half ago we met with Independent Documentary Film maker Ryan Katzenbach, who has followed this controversial case closely and questions the police investigation and the conclusion that Smith was the trigger man. He also filed an unsuccessful civil suit against the Beverly Hills Police Department to retrieve the very report released today.

Katzenbach reacting to the release of the report saying in-part:
“While I still have concerns about possible deficiencies in the Chasen investigation, based on documents turned over by Beverly Hills Police Department, I am pleased with the new transparency and spirit of cooperation.”
Katzenbach went on to say as he moves forward with his film on Chasen’s murder, he will continue to pursue various avenues in his own independent investigation.
