High winds cause power outages, trees to knock over

The Imperial Irrigation District had crews working to restore power throughout the Coachella Valley Saturday, May 6.

A spokesperson with IID said there had been multiple isolated outages in the valley, including one in La Quinta Cove. The Imperial Irrigation District reported the La Quinta Cove outage around 6 p.m. on its Facebook and Twitter accounts.

IID said the outages are due to the high winds. The winds have also caused multiple trees to knock over in the La Quinta area.
