David Brinkman released the following statement Monday afternoon:
Since the passing of Jim Casey on May 1, we have seen news reports regarding the lawsuit filed against Jim’s company, Integrated Wealth Management. It is distressing to learn of this lawsuit and the nature of the allegations brought against Jim. As a board member and donor, Jim Casey helped lead the funding of cutting edge health programs at D.A.P.
Jim co-chaired the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards from 2009 through 2015. He did exemplary work advancing D.A.P.’s mission, and along with his firm donated more than $1.2 million to support client services over the course of his involvement with our organization. Integrated Wealth Management’s 2017 pledge to D.A.P. is $25,000.
Because of the nature of the charges in the lawsuit, D.A.P. has engaged an accounting team, Miod and Company LLP, to conduct a forensic audit of all donations to our organization from Jim and Integrated Wealth Management.
We will cooperate in every way we can with investigators as the legal process unfolds.
The Desert AIDS Project is a Federally Qualified Health Center in Palm Springs.
