50 arrested in Morongo Basin warrant sweep

50 people were taken into custody after being arrested by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies from the Morongo Basin and Yucaipa stations, along an agent from California State Parole during a warrant sweep throughout the High Desert.

The sweep took place Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Twentynine Palms, Yucca Valley and in unincorporated areas of the Morongo Basin.

It consisted of eight two-person teams.

Deputies said 43 people were arrested for active warrants, eight for felonies, while the remaining 35 were taken into custody for misdemeanor violations including three for violating parole.

Seven arrests were for new open charges.

Of those seven, five were for misdemeanors and two were for felonies.
