One seriously injured in Banning crash

One person was seriously injured Sunday when a vehicle plowed into a tree in Banning.

The crash was reported at 12:19 p.m. on the eastbound 8th Street off-ramp from Interstate 10, said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.

The vehicle had to be cut open, and the driver was hospitalized with serious injuries, she said.
