Indio police call off search after 2 suspects ditch stolen car during pursuit

The Indio Police Department has ended its search for two suspects who bailed from a stolen car after a short pursuit on Tuesday around 11:30 a.m.

According to Sergeant Dan Marshall, officers received a hit on the stolen car using Lojack on south Jackson Street. Officers pursued the car for about two minutes before the suspects stopped the car and ran into the Summerfield Apartments, located at 83385 Gemini Street, near Vargas Road.

Officers were searching the stolen car as they looked for the suspects in the area of the apartment complex, but they weren’t able to locate the suspects.
