Man identified in deadly Desert Center crash
The Riverside County Coroners Office identified on Saturday a San Jose man who died Friday when a vehicle went off Interstate 10 and through a fence east of the Coachella Valley in Desert Center.
Roberto Estrada, 66, was pronounced dead minutes after the wreck, which happened at 1:35 p.m. Friday afternoon in the freeway’s eastbound lanes, just east of the State Route 177.
A CHP incident log indicates that a vehicle went off the right side of the freeway and through a fence, killing Estrada. Another person in the car was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, according to Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.
