Dispatcher for the City of Palm Springs passes away after 26 years of service

A 26-year veteran dispatcher for the city of Palm Springs is being remembered tonight as a true asset to the community after her death.

Sylvia Rivera recently passed away after being working as a Palm Springs police and fire dispatcher since 1991.

Last year, police chief Bryan Reyes surprised Rivera by congratulating her for 25 years of service to the city of Palm Springs.

The police department sent their condolences to her family and say she will be missed dearly.
