Residents push for Palm Springs neighborhood to become a historic district

Some residents in a Palm Springs neighborhood are looking to have their area designated as a “historic district”. That area comprises of the Sunmor neighborhood and part of the Sunrise Park neighborhood which the group is calling the Sunmor/Enchanted Homes tract.

This effort comes after a stay of demolition was put in place for a home in the area by the Historic Site Preservation Board last Tuesday.

Rick Berg, is one of the people leading the effort and said he wanted to to make sure the mid-century modern architecture of the area is preserved.

News Channel 3’s and CBS Local 2’s Jeremy Chen spoke with Berg and the City of Palm Springs about this effort. You can catch his story on CBS Local 2 at 5:30 p.m.
