SCE moves ahead with planned outages

Southern California Edison planning to go ahead with some planned outages, even after canceling a couple of them here in the valley because of the extreme heat.

Nearly 200 people will be without power overnight in Rancho Mirage.’

A planned outage from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. will happen at the Springs Mountain Resort to repair a control box that had previously been hit by a car.

Another outage will take place on Monday in Palm Desert from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nearly 400 customers will be affected by the outage.

Also, a July 26 outage will still go on near Risueno Road and Avenida La Vista in Cathedral City. The outage will affect about a dozen customers.

It will begin at 8:30 a.m. and last until 10:30 a.m. SCE says the reason for the outage is remove bees from an underground electrical service box.
