Agua Caliente Tribe replaces stolen little league gear

The Central Valley Little League team woke up to good news Saturday. It’s been a stressful few days for board members, Jessica Olson and Missy Poirier, after learning the leagues equipment room was broken into and all items inside were stolen.

“It’s very upsetting. It just makes you want to cry,” said Poirier.

Nearly 200 little leaguers were robbed of $6,000 worth of equipment Thursday. Olson quickly took to Facebook and asked the community for help in replacing the items. Olsen’s wish was quickly granted.

“I was shocked. I was amazed. The community support we’ve had over the last 24 hours is amazing. So to get that phone call was amazing,” Olson said.

A phone call from the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, who have decided to step up to the plate and replace all the stolen equipment.

“It gives me chills because that’s above and beyond what they already do, so they truly do care about the kids,” Poirier said.
