Teen struck by motorist in Twentynine Palms

The Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station was investigating a collision that sent a 15-year-old boy to Desert Regional Medical Center Saturday evening. The teen was airlifted to Palm Springs after being struck by a vehicle in Twentynine Palms.

The woman who hit the boy said she was driving eastbound on Twentynine Palms Highway when the teen walked into the roadway. Deputies said the collision happened at about 9:20 p.m., west of Utah Trail.

Paramedics arrived to find two Good Samaritans helping the teen as he was lying on the side of the road.

The teen was transported to High Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree before being airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for treatment.

Authorities released no information on the juvenile’s injuries.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the incident. Anyone with information related to the investigation was asked to call the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Morongo Basin Station at 760-366-4175.
