10 candidates seek open seats for Palm Springs City Council

Ginny Foat & Chris Mills announced at Wednesday’s Palm Springs City Council meeting they will not seek re-election after serving for more than a decade as city council members. There are currently 10 candidates that will be running for the two open seats in November.

All ten of the candidates have their information listed below:

Mills and Foat were the longest tenured council members and the final two remaining who had served with former Palm Springs mayor Steve Pougnet. He, along with two local developers, is facing public corruption and bribery charges.

Scandal at City Hall

Chris Mills served as a council member for 16 years.

Ginny Foat was elected to the city council in 2003 and was re-elected in 2005, 2009, and 2013. Foat also ran for Mayor of Palm Springs in 2015.
