Karen Devine is celebrating her 27th year delivering the local news as an anchor and reporter in the Palm Springs television market. She is a multi-award winning journalist that includes a number of Emmy awards, a couple of regional Edward R. Murrow awards, a Golden Mike and most recently an Athena Award from the Palm Springs Chamber. Devine is a member of the highly-regarded KESQ Investigative Reporting Team or I-Team.
On the anchor desk and in the field Karen has fronted hundreds of special reports, delivering breaking and daily news. She's interviewed some of the biggest names in the political, celebrity and local arena. She's moderated multiple political televised debates.
When Karen is not on-air, she is giving back to her community. She is affiliated with the American Cancer Society Desert Spirit Chapter, an advisory board member for Palm Springs Women in Film and Television, and for The Girlfriend Factor, a group that raises money for women to go back to college. There are multi-events each season pertaining to these groups where Karen is the emcee.
Devine was named the 2019 Woman of the Year by Assemblyman Chad Mayes (R-Yucca Valley) who represents the 42nd District.
Devine volunteers in local schools to introduce television journalism to students and continues to mentor up-and-coming journalists. And, on the home front, Karen enjoys traveling to see her two sons currently attending separate colleges here in California.
