Overnight Showers and Cooling Before a Sunny Weekend

A quick-moving low pressure system is bringing a cool and unsettled stretch to SoCal, with increasing clouds and showers heading into the Coachella Valley overnight.

Our best chance for rain arrives after midnight through early Thursday morning, with another round of showers possible Thursday and even a slight chance of thunderstorms. Rainfall totals should remain relatively light here in the valley, generally less than a tenth of an inch, while coastal communities and surrounding mountains could pick up significantly more.

Temperatures take a noticeable dip Thursday, with inland highs running 10–15 degrees below average as cooler air moves in.

Showers taper off by early Friday, setting us up for a really nice, drier, sunnier weekend with highs returning to the mid 80s.

Offshore winds arrive Saturday, bringing gusty northeast to east winds near our mountain passes before easing Sunday into early next week.
