Michael Osgood and his son Brody are making the trip from the Coachella Valley to Staples Center in Los Angeles for the Celebration of Life for Kobe and Gianna Bryant on Monday, February 24.

Osgood said he could not believe it when he found out that he had been selected to purchase tickets for the memorial. As a lifelong Laker fan, he said it was a no brainer.

Osgood said he was impacted by how Kobe fought through adversity and never gave up. He said that it's exciting to see that the younger generation, that did not grow up watching Kobe on the basketball court, has been impacted by his "Mamba Mentality" of working hard to achieve success.

The father-son duo know it is going to be an emotional day, but admitted they do not know exactly what to expect.

According to the Lakers organization, all proceeds from the memorial's ticket sales will be donated to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation. The memorial begins at 10 a.m. PT.
