Behind the scenes: Palm Springs International Film Festival programmers selection

As the Palm Springs International Film Festival releases its 2024 lineup, we're giving you a festival preview.

News Channel 3 will provide a behind-the-scenes look into the film festival's program selections, speaking with festival programmers about the rationale guiding their selections.

The SAG-AFTRA strike caused disruptions in the film industry in 2023, but PSIFF programmers persisted to find meaningful featured films.

They have selected 179 films from 74 countries.

“Sprawling in scope, this year’s lineup spotlights programming from both international and domestic communities, including first-time filmmaking from American stars, impactful documentaries from abroad, and the very best in contemporary cinema for our Coachella Valley audience,” said Artistic Director Lili Rodriguez. “The Palm Springs International Film Festival programming team committed the past year to searching and scavenging the world for the films which compose this Festival’s lineup.”

The 35th annual PSIFF has announced its official programming lineup, promising an exciting program of films.

Watch News Channel 3 at 5:00, 6:00 and 6:30 PM to hear from festival programmers about this year’s selections.
