Healing Waters

Folks in a trailer park near Desert Hot Springs are worried about West Nile Virus.

A pond behind the Healing Waters Trailer Home Park has been sitting for months.

Residents say it could be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

They think it’s also a safety hazard because someone could fall into it.

Neighbors say they’ve talked to the park’s management and still nothing’s been done about it.

Vector control officials say they treat the pond twice a month to make sure mosquitoes don’t breed.

But park residents insist this is the first time they’ve noticed a vector control crew on site.

County health inspectors will visit the park Thursday.
