Palm Desert High School Lockdown Lifted
Authorities have lifted a lockdown at Palm Desert High School after rumors that a former student may have been on campus with a gun.
The lockdown was ordered at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The move was taken in response to a rumor that a former student may have come to the campus with a gun, said Desert Sands Unified School District Superintendent Doris Wilson.
Sheriff’s deputiesconducted a sweep through the campus. No word on any arrests.
Therewere no injuries in the lockdown.
The emergency also prompted school district officials to lockdown other campuses in the district as a precaution.
