Director Of DHS Boys And Girls Club Ousted

The director of a local Boys and Girls Club is out of a job, andhe claims his firing was politically-motivated.

Adam Sanchez worked fornine years at the club in Desert Hot Springs.

He says the board of directors fired him after a study on the feasibility of a new Boys and Girls facility said he wasn’t actively involved with the club.

The club’s president, Cynthia Flores, says it was a personnel decision and she could not comment any further.

Sanchez spoke Wednesday with News Channel 3.

“It was my efforts. The $2 million appropriation from Congressman [Jerry] Lewis and also my efforts to getthree acres of land from County Supervisor Marion Ashley that got us to the point to do this merger,” Sanchez said.”Soat this time whenI have done all this work, i’m being told that my services are not needed.”

The president of the Boys and Girls Club in Desert Hot Springs says the position is still open.
