La Quinta Man, 19, Suspected Of Killing 16-Year-Old Boy
A 19-year-old La Quinta man is in custody on suspicion of the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy in Indio last month, police said Wednesday.
Jose Luis Garcia was booked Tuesday on suspicion of murder after police served search warrants in the 87300 block of Church Street in Thermal and the 52100 block of Avenida Carranza in La Quinta, said police spokesman Ben Guitron.
The 16-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was found dead of multiple bullet wounds outside the Summer Field Apartments in the 83400 block of Capricorn Avenue just after midnight on Feb. 21, Guitron said.
Garcia is scheduled to be arraigned at the Indio courthouse on Friday, according to court records.
