Hwy. 62 Back To Normal After 10 Car Pile-Up

Highway 62 is clear again north of Indian Avenue following a pile-up involving 10 vehicles near Desert Hot Springs and just south of the San Bernardino County line, CHP reports.

According to California Highway Patrol, the pile-up stemmed from an initial single-car crash which was reported just after 3 p.m.

Acar going southbound hita side of themountain, causing it to flip over and land on the highway.

Cars then stopped to assist the driver in the crash. However, severalvehicles collided into each other to avoid hitting pedestrians and other cars stopped on the mountain roadway.

Officers on the scene are reporting mostly minor injuries to several people.

Witness accounts from the scene stated a complete mess following the collision.

The roadways were cleared just after 4:20 Friday afternoon.
