Report: El Paseo Bank Parent To Receive $7.3 M From Gov’t

News Channel 3 has learned a local bank received TARP funds.

TARP, or the Troubled Asset Relief Program, allows theU.S. Treasury to buy or insure billions of troubled assets.

Western Community Bancshares, Inc. is the parent company of El Paseo Bank.

It received nearly $7.3 million from the government.

And, it isn’t alone. The list of banks getting federal money is 11 pages long.
