Valley Residents Beat The Heat At Cooling Centers And The Movies

Palm Springs – With highs reaching 113 degrees on Tuesday, Valley residents looked for every option to be the heat. Some went to cooling centers others stood in line at 3:30p.m. for the midnight showing of Harry Potter the Half-Blood Prince. Amanda Hoffman took the day off of work to be first in line at the Rancho Regal 16. Hoffman says, “I’m glad I’m in here where it’s cool with my laptop. I’m watchingall theHarry Potter movies in preparation for tonight’s.”

Cooling centers around theValley also saw some action. Dozens of peoplespent part of the day soaking up the air conditioning, grabbing a bottle of water and some snacks. The cooling centers are setup all acrossRiversideCounty. For a full list of Cooing Center locations click here.
