UPDATE: Disabled Woman Given Reprieve On Foreclosed Home

DESERT HOT SPRINGS – A disabled woman forced to move from her foreclosed home by the middle of this month was given a one month reprieve.

Myrna Blanc is disabled from a car crash 12 years ago. Financial woes involving refinancing a mortgage led to the foreclosure of her home. She also had to deal with medical expenses. The monthly expenses outweighed any money she could receive from disability.

But this week, News Channel 3 learned Blanc was given a one-month extension from the bank, which would keep her in the home.

Her neighbors banded together recently to help her.

If you’d like to help, Desert Hot Springs city councilman Russell Betts is coordinating neighborhood efforts. You can reach him at rbetts@cityofdhs.orgor 760-660-7122.
