Karen Devine is an award winning journalist who brings more than 17 years of local news experience to News Channel 3 HD.
Covering the stories most important to our local viewers, Karen has a long history of getting the big interviews and reporting the facts in a personable style that resonate with our viewers.
The Coachella Valley community is very important to Karen who headlines numerous speaking engagements every year.
Karen was named Woman of the Year in 2007 by Senator Jim Battin’s office and she has received many awards throughout the years highlighting her hard work and dedication to broadcast journalism. They include five Emmy Awards, voted “The Best of the Best” twice by readers of The Desert Sun and “Most Popular” news anchor accolades from readers of Palm Springs Life Magazine.
Karen is a graduate of Cal State University, Fullerton. She started her career working behind the scenes on CNN’s “Showbiz Today.” She worked two years for the City of Walnut on a weekly news program called “A Week in Walnut. In 1992, Karen was hired by KMIR-TV. During her 17 years there, she anchored multiple newscasts, reported on the big stories in the valley and was News Director for four years. Karen is married with two sons. She feels blessed she has the opportunity to live, work and raise her family here in the Coachella Valley.
