Nathan is an Emmy Award winning newsreporter for News Channel 3 HD.
He’sinvestigated cold case murders, corruptionand thethe Church of Scientology.Nathan won the 2008 Emmy Award for InvestigativeReporting on the “Octopus Murders.”
Nathan’s journalism philosophy is to “speak truth to power,” believing it is a reporter’s responsibility to keep local politicians and law enforcement accountable for theirwords andactions.
He was born in Ventura, California and knew he wanted to become a journalist while watching the evening newsas a child. Nathan graduated from the University of La Verne with a degree in Broadcasting. He began his career in television news as an Assignment Editor. His most memorable moment as a journalist was traveling to Israel and the Palestinian West Bank alone in 2004. He was equipped with a camera, tripod and microphone and produced a documentary from the interviews he gathered there, including one with an American-born member of the political wing of Hamas.
When he is not working, Nathan enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Annie, and spending weekends in San Diego. His interests include hiking, jazz, astronomy and politics. His proudest moment was the publication of his novel, “Westwinds” in 2001.
