Palm Desert Country Club Prepares To Re-Open
PALM DESERT – The golf course is brown now, but by Thanksgiving it figures to be turning good and green.
Over the summer the Palm Desert Country Club went bankrupt and subsequently closed in September, butthanks to a bankruptcy court approved $300,000 loan the club is back on its feet gearing up for the winter season.
In fact the over-seeding is just about completed says director of operations Mike Ritchie.
Established in 1962, the club spent $14 millionin renovations 3 years ago, and while the owners got over their heads,people we talked to who own property along the fairways don’t want to point fingers at this point.
And to keep the country club on track,that means better accounting practices by the clubs operators. A challenge general manager Dave Simmons is ready to take on.”I
