Two Hurt In Suspected DUI Crash In Palm Springs

PALM SPRINGS – A suspected drunk driver was free onbail Monday morning after police say he struck a man in a Palm Springs intersection over the weekend.

Seth Arsenault, 52, of Palm Springs, posted $50,000 bail after his arreston felony DUI accusations Saturday.

Police said Arsenault was behind the wheel of a tan Mercedes that struck a man trying to push a vehicle out of the intersection of N. Sunrise Way and Via Escuela, around 2:26 a.m. Saturday.

Derek Short, 23, of Palm Springs, was severely injured and transported to Desert Regional Medical Center. Arsenault was also treated there for minor injuries.

Police said Short and Ernesto Paz, also 23 and of Palm Springs, had been trying to push their black Toyota SUV after it stalled in the intersection. Short was pushing the vehicle with Paz behind the wheel when he was struck, police said.
