Indio Police Investigate Homicide

INDIO -An autopsy is set for Wednesday for a man who was found dead with a gunshot wound on an Indio roadway, authorities said today.

The man, whose name and age were not released, was found on John Nobles Avenue east of Monroe Street around 2:45 p.m. Monday, said Ben Guitron of the Indio Police Department.

The victim, who appeared to be in his mid 20s, suffered at least onegunshot wound, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.

Four Latino men, including one who had a handgun, were seen running east on John Nobles Avenue following the shooting, he said.

Guitron said police do not have a motive.
