Agua Caliente’s ‘SHOW’ Theatre Nominated For National Award

RANCHO MIRAGE – Agua Caliente’s “Show” is one of five venues in the nation to be tapped as “The Best New Major Concert Venue” by a national magazine.

Pollstar Magazine came out with the nominations for the award Thursday, pitting “The Show” against the Fox Theatre in Oakland, Calif., The House of Blues in Boston, The Joint at the Hard Rock, and the Lucas County Arena in Toledo, Ohio.

“This is a fantastic day for us,” said Steve Macfadyen, director of entertainment at The Show and concert industry veteran. “For The Show to be nominated for such a prestigious award in its first nine months of operation is an enormous accomplishment, but well deserved. Our team has put together a world class venue with first class amenities for guests and artists alike. I believe we truly have one of the finest concert theatres in the country.”

Several hundred randomly selected concert industry executives participate in the nomination process. The nominations are tallied, and those concert venues with the most votes are placed on the final ballot.

Now, it’s up to online voters to cast their ballots.

The award will be handed out to the winner on February 17, 2010 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
