About Dr. Bernard

Dr. Bernard was born and raised in the Midwest, one of five children in an old time general physician’s family. He received his undergraduate degree with a teaching certificate from Michigan State University. After a short stint teaching, Dr. Bernard moved his own young family to Texas where he was involved with cancer research and ultimately obtained his doctorate from The University of North Texas, College of Osteopathic Medicine.Relocating back to Michigan, and following a general internship, Dr. Bernard completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, where he received an award for outstanding laparoscopic (laser) skills and served his final year as Chief Resident. He and his family remained in this area where he practiced medicine and taught medical students and residents as a Clinical Professor for MSU’s College of Human Medicine.Dr. Bernard has now relocated to the desert where he continues his practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology with an emphasis on education and patient, personalized care. He maintains privileges at Eisenhower Memorial Hospital and John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital. He is Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
