New Veteran’s Clinic Opens In Palm Desert

PALM DESERT – The Veterans Administration opened up its new clinic Friday. The new VA clinic is on 41990 Cook St near Hovely Lane.

It’s run by doctors at Loma Linda Medical Center. They moved from a smaller location up the street.

Last month the medical center added 100 new veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The center services over 7,500 Coachella Valley veterans, including those who served in Vietnam and Korea.

1952 Army veteran Leo Weinstein says, “For me to come here in a matter of 6 minutes rather than go to Loma Linda which takes me at least an hour and a half. The facilities here are wonderful. Everything you need is right here.”

The Palm Desert veteran’s center also has a mental health clinic.
