Bob Hope Classic Cancels Thursday Play Due To Rain

LA QUINTA – With rain pounding the courses in La Quinta, representatives of the Bob Hope Classic have decided to delay play until Friday.

The Bob Hope Classic has only canceled play three times in its history – the last time being 1980.

Shane Bertsch enters today’s second round of the five-round, $5.1 million tournament with a two-shot lead over Alex Prugh and Jeff Quinney.

The trio were scheduled to all play today at the Arnold Palmer Private Course at PGA West after playing Wednesday’s first round at the Jack Nicklaus Private Course at PGA West.

The celebrity field is to play at La Quinta Country Club.

The celebrities and other amateurs are scheduled to play through Saturday, while the professionals are set to play through Sunday.
