Southwest Airlines Suspends Flights In Southern California

ONTARIO – Ontario International Airport is the latest location Southwest Airlines has suspended service.

The airline suspended operations for the afternoon at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank and LA/Ontario International Airport. Airline officials say they hope to resume service at 6 p.m. The majority of Southwest flights at John Wayne Airport in Orange County have also been canceled.

The airline has also canceled the majority of its flights two and from Phoenix.

San Diego International Airport is also feeling Southwest’s precautions. Flights there are suspended until at least 4pm.

Yesterday, two planes were hit by lightning at Burbank’s airport. Passengers and crew reported a numb feeling after landing.
