DC Digs Out After Winter Wallop
WASHINGTON -Most trains planes and buses are still frozen in place as the cleanup continues after the Mid-Atlantic blizzard.
The nation’s capital is pretty well shut down again today with schools and even the government closed due to hazardous travel conditions that persist for a second day after the snow stopped.
Stranded travelers are wondering when they’ll be able to escape the effects of the “historic” snowstorm.
Thousands of homes are still without power and with temperatures below freezing utilities are warning it could be days before electricity is restored to everyone.
For many in the Washington, D.C.-area, it’s another day to dig out.
Making matters worse, the weather service has issued a storm watch for the Washington area Tuesday, saying there was potential for another 5 inches or more of snow.
