Jaycee Dugard Tapes Air On ABC

NEW YORK -Home videos aired today on ABC show kidnapping victim Jaycee Dugard back at home with her family after 18 years as a captive.

In excerpts shown on “Good Morning America,” the 29-year-old is seen cooking with her sister and mother and riding horses.

It’s the first time she has been seen and heard on video since she resurfaced six months ago after being kidnapped outside her South Lake Tahoe, Calif. home in 1991.

In one clip, Dugard says she is doing well and thanks the public for its support. She says, “It’s been a long haul, but I’m getting there.”

Her mother asks people to respect the family’s privacy and “give us the time we need to heal as a family.”

The excerpts don’t show Dugard’s two daughters, 12 and 15, who were fathered by her alleged kidnapper.

Additional clips will air tonight on “20/20” and “Nightline.”
