Storm Heads To Desert For Weekend

PALM SPRINGS -A Pacific storm will likely bring more rain to the Coachella Valley this weekend, and snow to the mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

About a third of an inch of rain is expected to fall in the Coachella Valley Saturday into Sunday.

Up to an inch is expected in the western end of the county, and possibly more on the southwest-facing slopes of the San Bernardino County mountains, according to the Weather Service.

Most of the rain is expected on Saturday, with a chance of thunderstorms and funnel clouds on Sunday, according to the Weather Service.

The snow level will lower to near 4,000 feet by Sunday, with local snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches expected at the higher elevations.
