Two Men On The Run Accused Of Coachella Home Invasion Robbery

COACHELLA– Police saya woman got a knock at her Coachella home around 11:30am Tuesday morning.

When she opened the door, 2 armed men forced their way inside.

They locked the woman and her two children in a back room while they ransacked the home.

They took some jewelry and cash and got away.

“It’s kinda odd that it occurred in this location and there’s a lot of families in here and it occurred at this time during the day,” says Lt Frank Taylor with the Coachella Police Department.

A man who didn’t want to be identified says the victim baby sits his daughter.

“Any little daughter goes often out there too to visit with them and stays with them and I’m pretty lucky I didn’t let my daughter with her,” says the man.

Neighbors say the security gates at the parks entrance stay open all day and only close at night.

They’re concerned it’s allowing criminals inside that are breaking into homes.

Neighbors say there’s been a handful of break-in’s during the past few weeks.

But, this is the first time the robbers had guns.

News Channel 3 couldn’t get in touch with the property manager.

Neighbors say security guards patrol complex but they don’t seem to help.

“I think it doesn’t help at all because by the time the security guard goes around the property the burglars go the other way,” says Silva Ramirez.

Both suspects are Hispanic men.

One is approximately 25 years old, 5 foot 10 inches tall with a slim build, last seen wearing an orange sweater and black pants.

The other suspect is 40 years old, 5 foot 10 inches tall, about 240 pounds wearing blue pants and a dark colored baseball cap.

Both had semi-automatic handguns.

Police say they could be driving a dark colored Ford F-150 truck with a wheel-barrel inside the truck bed.
