Firefighters Ruling Fire At Cathedral City Business Suspicious

Cathedral City – Cathedral City firefighters are hoping to question several transients living near a Cathedral City business. They say one of them may have started the fire at FlooringInnovations on Highway 111.

The fire broke out just after 10p.m. in the back lot of the building. Wooden pallets and used carpeting were fully engulfed when fire crews arrived on scene. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire without it moving into the main showroom. The owner ofFlooring Innovations, Bill Nicholson says, “Itcould have been worse, the firefighters responded fast and were able to get it put out quickly.”

Firefighters don’t estimate the fire caused a lot of damage. The fire did cause some smoke damage to the interior, but Nicholson says with a little ventilation they’ll be open Thursday.
