$100,000 Worth of Jewelry Stolen At Casino
A 41-year-old San Bernardino County man is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday to answer charges of burglarizing the Casino Valet Gift Shop at the Pechanga Casino of more than $100,000 in jewelry.
Anthony Jason Daly, remained jailed today without bail, following his arrest Saturday while driving away from a Cathedral City hotel that had been staked out by police who were tipped off that he was a suspect in the burglaries, according to Lt. John Lopotosky.
Daly is suspected of committing burglaries on July 7 and March 10. An investigator working on the case confirmed the suspect’s identity and started tracking him, Lopotosky said.
After police stopped his vehicle, he was detained until the investigator arrived and questioned him.
Daly allegedly confessed to the crimes and the jewelry was recovered.
Investigators are continuing the probe in the belief that Daly has committed thefts in other casinos in Riverside and San Diego counties, Lopotosky said.
