Tech Startups Launch Products at DEMO 2010
At a time when banks are restricting the lending to small businesses, the tech industry is seeing more and more lending. Over 50 of the worlds top emerging high tech inventions are pitching their technology in Palm Desert this week at DEMO 2010. All are hoping to get funding from venture capitalist. The DEMO conference in just the past 4 years has led to $2.5 billion in venture funding. Phil Sanderson with IDG Ventures says, “There’s a lot of money out there and a lot of good entrepreneurs, we have new $200 million fund and venture is 20% of the Gross Domestic Product in the United States.
Companies like the Loop Pointer are showcasing how their circular mouse allows people the surf the web from their couches with the ease of its newly launched Kylo internet browser. Phone Halo is another company hoping to get some interest with their product. The Phone Halo allows you to know exactly where your kids are and alerts you when you leave your phone or keys behind.
Attendees reaching 500 in size will watch as demonstrators showcase their products during 6-minute demos. Skype, Palm and other companies have launched at the DEMO conference. DEMO 2010 ends Tuesday afternoon.
