KIFI News Group, Eastern Idaho and western Wyoming?s local news leader, is looking for a Digital Content Director.
The Digital Content Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day news, content and development operations of the station?s websites (LocalNews8.com) and mobile content. The Digital Content Director is also responsible for working with the news director, the general sales manager and corporate directors to co-develop and manage news content and sales opportunities as well as administering policies and procedures
The DCD must be able to do the following:
Produce, display and supervise online content and operations
Write, rewrite, produce and publish news and interactive content and train all other news staff members how to write, rewrite and publish news content to the Web site. .
Capture, edit, prepare and upload video and photos for Web site use
Find and add links to related stories and Web sites
Monitor daily news flow and track scheduled news events to ensure proper coverage on the Web site
Create and advocate a culture of Web-first publishing of all news content
Drive new loyalists to the Web site with consistent and dependable breaking news and weather coverage
Work closely with sales and creative services on the development of business strategies and opportunities that support sales efforts
Launch user-content integration and interaction
You will work with some of the highest digital technology in the market, including Sony XDCAM cameras, AVID editors, ENPS and two live trucks and wireless internet technology.
To qualify you must have a BS/BA Degree with a journalism or communications background and have a knowledge of personal computers and general productivity software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point). Understanding HTML, Java and Flash technology is a plus.
