Local Agencies Help Quake Victims

Help for the areas hit hardest by sunday’s quake is coming from a number of local agencies, including the Salvation Army.

The Cathedral City chapter is accepting food and money, and its mobile canteen is ready to go. It’s a fully outfitted kitchen that’s on call if it’s needed for relief efforts in the El Centro area.

“We are able to provide about 500 meals per hour if need be,” says Captain Jessica Doria, “so we just need to stock it with water and emergency supplies and food, and have it ready in case we are called and they say ‘you guys are a go.'”

If you’d like to help the Salvation Army feed and house people displaced by the quake, call the local chapter at (760) 324-2275.
