Adam West Honored on Palm Springs Walk of Stars
The “Caped Crusader” is now a star in Palm Springs.
Actor Adam West is the latest to get a spot on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
West was there for the unveiling of his star Saturday morning, at the corner of South Palm Canyon and Tahquitz Canyon.
He appeared in more than 50 movies, but he’s most famous for playing “Batman” in the 1960’s t.v. show.
Still, he says he has never gotten used to the idea of being an icon.
“I never think about that,” West said. “And, when I’m walking through an airport, people say ‘ooh, hey, icon!’ I turn around and think, maybe it’s Irving Icon or something, I don’t know, but I guess it’s a wonderful kind of reward with folks after 50 years of this nonsense.”
West lives part-time in Palm Springs and part-time in Idaho.
He is the 329th person to be honored on the walk of stars.
